The Importance of ___ In Strange Times

"Deep within us—no matter who we are—there lives a feeling of wanting to be lovable, of wanting to be the kind of person that others like to be with. AndD the greatest thing we can do is to let people know that they are loved and capable of loving." — Mister Rogers

When the world is bleak, when everything seems to crash down around you, have hope. Better days are ahead, and you will always make it out - perhaps not totally unscathed, but alive.

Allow yourself a moment, and sit with a memory of being a child, so hopeful and ready to explore the world with a creative wonder. And allow that wonder to slip back into your life.

Life is busy. It is noisy, and fast, and sometimes we forget that we ourselves have needs. This is not something to applaud. Overworking yourself is NOT normal. It should NEVER be normal to overextend yourself in unhealthy ways.

Sit with the thought, and the idea that you are NOT a robot. You are not a machine, and you will never be perfect. And that is perfectly okay.

Learn to cultivate an understanding that others feel the same.

Love can help you gain strength when times are rough. Love others as you love yourself, and if you don't love yourself - get started.

You are enough. Be yourself, and Love who you are.

Ways to spread Love:
• Donate blood
• Offer sincere thanks
• Pick up trash (any trash will do!!)
• Leave a generous tip
• Learn kind words in another language and practice them
• Pass on an inspiring book to a friend who could use it

"Radical Acceptance rests on letting go the illusion of control and a willingness to notice and accept things as they are right now, without judging." — Dr. Marsha Linehan, creator of DBT

Statements to encourage self acceptance: • The present moment is the only one I have control over. • Fighting my current emotions and thoughts only gives them more fuel to thrive. • The present is a result of thousands of variables from the past. • This moment is precisely as it should be even though I might not like it. • I cannot change what has happened in the past. • I accept this moment as it is. • Although my emotions are uncomfortable, I will get through it. • It's not helpful for me to fight the past.
